Everybody loves pictures!

My customer service inspiration, my grandpa, Elias Simon

Bedtime reading with the little one. Tonight's story? Raving Fans. When it comes to service, we start 'em young in this family. Besides, Raving Fans is a fairy tale.

Here, I'm helping build a playground. They put me in what could only be called "The Sawdust Tent." Rather than put me where the playground was being assembled (looking like a real swell guy to all the kids), they put me where they drill, saw, sand, and assemble all of the wood components.

I'm still brushing off the dust. 'Phew'

For the first time in some five years, I had a hankerin' for some fried chicken. Not so fast on that phone call to the cholesterol police. I used spelt flour (instead of wheat) for the coating and olive oil (not peanut oil) for the frying. Hmmmmm. Good!

No, I did not turn the photo upside down. That's me hanging upside down. This was taken inside an old railroad car converted into a hotel room. Our bed is just over . . . er . . . under my head.

Probably the easiest time I have ever had hanging. The good news: it is no harder than holding luggage as heavy as your body weight. The bad news: when your arms get tired and it's time to drop the "luggage." OUCH!

The four seats in the front are (clockwise from top right) my brother Mike, my Dad, Bill, Me, in the brown hat, and my sister, Rena. The rapid is called Troublemaker and it is on the south fork of the American River, near Coloma, California (where the goldrush started).

It has a unique feature that I have never seen on a rapid before: a gallery. There are campgrounds on both sides of the river and campers spend all day on the river watching rafts go by.

If you look closely, you can see my dad (right in front of me on the raft) begin to fall off the side. I grabbed his life vest just before he fell over.

My wife, Anne, and I at Multnomah Falls near Portland, Oregon, in December. And, yea, it's really cold! If you look closely enough, you can actually see my teeth chatter.

This is atop Mt. Lassen, a dormant volcano in Northern California. I have a rule about climbing volcanoes. If it's not dormant, I'm not climbing it! I'm the one in blue on the right.

Making baby food. Here, I'm quartering pear. The little one loves pear. You might be thinking I'm nuts for "making" baby food, when anyone can just buy a jar or 50 at any grocery store. But, its much easier than you might think, and when we stick to the organics, much healthier.

Yummy, yummy pear coming right up!!
